Washington, DC - Today, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson was confirmed as the newest justice on the U.S. Supreme Court, making history as the first Black woman in this role. She will be sworn in this summer.
Alvina Yeh, Executive Director of the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance, AFL-CIO stated, “We congratulate Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson for her confirmation to the United States Supreme Court. Judge Jackson is a brilliant legal mind with the utmost character and integrity. She previously served on the U.S. Sentencing Commission, demonstrating her commitment to reform. Her confirmation strengthens the progressive and women's voice on the court, which is critical when attacks to abortion access, worker protections, and civil rights are being contested across the nation. We are excited for her leadership to advance and defend the rights of AAPI workers across the country!”
