The Trump administration just issued its xenophobic policy called "public charge." Under this policy, the federal government would be able to decide granting of green cards based on the public assistance immigrants receive along with other factors, like health, family size, education, and English language proficiency. In other words, documented immigrants must choose between basic services, like health care and food stamps, or keeping their family together in the US.
