Mission

This organization is committed to develop a comprehensive strategy to organize Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islanders into Unions, and to promote the participation and leadership of Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islanders within the Labor Movement. This organization is further dedicated to strengthening International Labor Solidarity, especially with Labor Unions of Asia and the Pacific.

The primary aims and objectives of this organization, which shall be known as the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance, AFL-CIO shall be to:

  • Educate Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islanders Workers and their communities about Labor Unions and the principles of Trade Unionism, as well as to provide a vehicle for the particular concerns of Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Workers.
  • Promote, support and assist the organizing of Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Workers into Unions.
  • Promote political education and voter registration programs among the Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Workers.
  • Promote the training, empowerment and leadership of Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islanders within the Labor Movement and the Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Communities.
  • Defend and advocate for the civil and human rights of Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islanders, immigrants and all other people of color.
  • Develop ties with International Labor Organizations, especially with Labor Unions in Asia and the Pacific, and seek steps to promote world peace.
