DC Chapter's Program: Mission, Priorities, & Goals

Mission
Engage
To promote active participating in our democracy through civic participation.

  • Register 100 new Asian American and Pacific Islander working voters.
  • Gather qualitative data on Asian American and Pacific Islander worker challenges and issues.
  • Mail out 1,000 bilingual mailers.

Engage For Change Program

Engage for Change is a program dedicated to building community(s) and strengthen our democracy by registering and mobilizing voters in the Northern Virginia Asian Pacific and Pacific Islander community. We seek to build meaningful relationships, develop leaders in civic engagement, and further connecting ourselves to the communities we live with. 

Join us as host voter registration drives between now and October 15, 2018 ​(Virginia's voter registration deadline).

Volunteer Dates

CANVASSING/DOOR KNOCKING
Every Sat/Sun from 10-4pm until elections on Nov. 6, 2018.

LOCATIONS
Northern Virginia: Alexandria, Falls Church, etc.
*Transportation will be provided*

PHONE BANKING
Every Tues/Thurs from 6-8:30pm until elections Nov. 6, 2018 in DC.

Join APALA DC Chapter, Thursday, October 18, at our Stick To Your Story: Putting Intention Behind (Y)our Organizing event.


At this event, we will be (1) introducing and celebrating our Northern Virginia civic engagement (Engage For Change Program) efforts so far, (2) holding space to share each others values and challenges through storytelling, and (3) collectively healing through food and building connections. We hope to see you there!
