APALA's 18th Biennial Convention
Thursday, June 26th- Sunday, June 29th
Los Angeles, CA
Held June 26- June 29, in Los Angeles, California over 450 attendees from across the country gather to learn, listen, and strategize for the future. Program included panels on defending our democracy with five national union presidents, keeping our immigrant communities safe, and celebrating APALA's first labor delegation to the Philippines. We thank Matt Biggs, IFPTE President, Claude Cummings, CWA President, Everett Kelley, AFGE President, Lee Saunders, AFSCME President, and Randi Weingarten, AFT President, for joining our convention and sharing how labor is leading the resistance for our rights and our democracy. In addition, attendees heard from a number inspiring speakers and performances and held workshops where attendees could learn new skills to fight for racial and economic justice in our communities. We conducted the election of National Executive Board At-Large Vice Presidents and Officers, adopted resolutions and amended our constitution.
