Voter Protection

Instances of institutional and individual discrimination targeting APAs, as well as many other racial and ethnic minorities, have been well documented.  APAs have reported inaccurate ballot translations in Asian languages, rude and hostile treatment at the polls, and poll workers unnecessarily requesting identification.  In response to these injustices, APALA initiated a voter protection component to ensure that Asian Pacific American voters can fully participate in the political process.
