APAs have stabilized their presence in traditional strongholds and flourished in newer communities across the United States.    In the past decade, some geographical areas including Las Vegas have experienced an increase of APAs. Between 2000-2008, there was an 81.2% increase of APA’s in Las Vegas . The APA population grew from 4% of the city’s population to 7.1%. APAs have also increased their political influence, determining many Congressional and Senatorial elections in the 2006 cycle.  To effectively mobilize limited English proficient APA voters, APALA conducts voter mobilization efforts in Asian languages including: Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, Tagalog and Vietnamese.
