David Carpio is the National Education and Training Coordinator at the AFL-CIO, where he develops educational materials on organizing, politics, and communications. David conducts regular trainings around the country on behalf of unions, state federations, and the National AFL-CIO. In addition to training and education work, he has been actively involved in mobilizing labor during political elections. Prior to joining the AFL-CIO, David served on several political campaigns as field director and deputy campaign manager. David became active in the labor movement as a researcher and teaching assistant at Columbia University, during an organizing drive with the UAW and later as a union organizer working on organizing drives for UAW Region 9A.
